Chinese art turnover ranks third in the world

Recently, the European art foundation, an international authoritative art market research institution, released the annual global art market monitoring report. China ranked third in the world in terms of total turnover in 2009, and China Guardian became the world's top five auction companies.

According to the report, in 2009, the total transaction volume of the global art market was 31.3 billion euros, down 26% from 2008, but this figure is still higher than the level in 2006. Among them, the United States and the United Kingdom accounted for 30% and 29% of the total global trading volume respectively, ranking the top two; In 2009, the total transaction volume of China's art market reached 4.2 billion euros, accounting for 14% of the global share, with a year-on-year increase of 12%, ranking the third in the world.

In addition, the total volume of transactions in the global art auction market in 2009 was 13billion euros, down 32% from 2008.

It is worth noting that China Guardian International Auction Co., Ltd., which leads the Asian art auction market with a total turnover of 291million euros (2.712 billion yuan), has become the fifth largest auction company in the world, which is also one of the top five auction companies in the world.
